There are many ministries in our
parish. Parishioners can benefit from the services
provided by these ministries, and your faith can be shared and
strengthened by volunteering to minister to others.
Ministries at St. Mary's are:
Christian Services
- The primary goal of the Christian Services Ministry is
to care for the spiritual and material needs of the parish and
community as identified through various sources and develop
the vehicles necessary to support these needs. Included
in Christian Services Ministry are Bereavement and Friendly
Visitor Programs.
Art
and Environment Committee
- Prepare the setting of the church sanctuary for the many
services of the liturgical year.
Education
- The educational mission of the Church is an integrated
ministry embracing three interlocking dimensions:
message, community, and service. (NCCB,
To Teach as Jesus Did) Christian
education is intended to make faith become living, conscious,
and active through the light of instruction. A
partnership among parents, teachers, and catechists can make
this ideal a reality.
Evangelization
- Evangelization, a vital part of the Church's mission,
is the proclamation of the Gospel in order to bring others to
Christ as His Church.
Hispanic Ministry
With evangelization of the Spanish-speaking Catholics of our
area as its major goal, the Hispanic community meets to study,
socialize, and worship in their primary language. All
are welcome to attend these gatherings.
Liturgical Ministries
- A variety of liturgical ministries are available to the
members of our parish who want to offer their gifts of
ministry to enhance the parish celebrations of liturgy.
Music
- "Among the many signs and symbols used by the
Church to celebrate its faith, music is of pre-eminent
importance. As sacred son united to the words, it forms
an integral part of solemn liturgy." excerpt
from The Liturgy Documents. "Music in Catholic
Worship"
Sacristan -
Sacristan ministries include Sacristans, Servers, and Ushers.
Youth
- Youth Ministry works to foster the total personal and
spiritual growth of each young person. Its purpose is to
draw young people to the responsible participation in the
life, mission, and work of the faith community. Adults who
believe in the power and presence of young people should
consider volunteering to assist the Youth Ministry.
Administration
- The various aspects of parish administration afford fellow
parishioners the opportunity to share their respective
administrative, managerial, and vocational skills and
interests.
