Christian Services Ministry

The primary goal of the Christian Services Ministry is to respond to the needs of the older parishioners, the bereaved, the homebound and the sick.  Included in Christian Services Ministry are Bereavement and Visitation Programs.

Visitation Program   Visits are made to the sick, homebound and parishioners in nursing homes on a regular basis. Eucharistic Ministers - in coordination with the Pastor - also take Holy Communion to these people (there are NO self-appointed Eucharistic Ministers).
  

Other Christian Services

SENIOR ACTIVITIES: Senior Parishioners have a monthly Birthday Brunch on the 1st Wednesday of the month and a Pot Luck Luncheon on the 1st Tuesday of each month, during the School Year. 

Potluck Lunch - This is for the 55 and older Group.  Anyone can attend and bring a dish to share.  It is the 1st Tuesday of every month during the school year.

The Birthday Brunch - is for all parishioners 55 and older who are celebrating a birthday during that month.  A beautiful brunch is provided and the attendees need not bring anything.

Following the yearly Advent & Lent Penance Rites Services and Anointing of the Sick, an outstanding lunch is served to the Senior Parishioners in the Parish Hall.

ST. MARY’S SCHOOL: Seniors mentor children at St. Mary’s School that need some extra time and tutoring. Not only do the teachers appreciate this help, but the students are awarded another loving, caring helper.

OUT OF TOWN TRIPS: One day out of town trips are offered at various times. Some of these in the past have been “Horsefeathers & Applesauce”, Pilgrimage Sites, Archdiocesan events, Christmas Tree Lights, etc…

GREETING CARD MINISTRY: Monthly Birthday cards are sent to the homebound and nursing homes, also special events, and get well and sympathy cards.

ERRAND SERVICE: Presently this is not functioning. Drivers are needed to commit a morning once a week.
